List responsibly. Rent thoughtfully.

For Owners

• List only gear you own or are authorized to rent, and accurately describe its condition, included equipment, known defects, and user requirements.
• Keep gear clean, functional, appropriately maintained, and suitable for the use you authorize.
• Provide relevant operating instructions, warnings, and required safety equipment. Do not offer an item you know or reasonably should know is unsafe.
• Follow manufacturer guidance and all applicable licensing, inspection, registration, maintenance, and insurance requirements.

For Renters

• Choose gear appropriate for your experience, plans, and conditions. Ask questions before booking.
• Inspect it at pickup. If it is unsafe or materially different from the listing, do not use it; document the issue and contact the Owner and AYCR.
• Follow Owner instructions, manufacturer guidance, local law, and any age, licensing, training, certification, or safety-equipment requirements.
• Return gear on time and report a malfunction, damage, accident, theft, loss, or injury promptly.

Higher-risk equipment

Some activities and equipment carry heightened risks. Watercraft, trailers, powered equipment, climbing systems, and other specialized gear may require additional training, inspection, licensing, registration, insurance, or supplemental terms. AYCR may restrict a category until the right safeguards are in place.

In an emergency, contact emergency services first. Then notify the Owner and AYCR as soon as it is safe to do so.

Insurance

A rental through AYCR does not automatically mean the Owner, Renter, or item is insured. Personal policies may exclude peer-to-peer rental activity. Do not assume coverage; determine whether you have appropriate insurance before the rental.
